Prime Vision is one of the leading mid-scale systems integrators and a pioneer in postal technology innovation. Our company is all about innovation in IT. We converge the knowledge from our long history and experience in deep learning and the latest IoT and Robotics capabilities to create a fertile ground for innovative thinkers and problem solvers.
We are passionate about what we do and are looking for someone with a similar attitude to support us in creating the right solutions for our international customers.
Within the innovation team, we are working towards automation in the logistics sector using our affordable mobile robot.
In partnership with future customers, Prime Vision is developing an Autonomous Sorting system using a multitude of robots roaming freely inside an arena for parcel sorting purposes (for reading: https://www.primevision.com/second-national-post-announces-autonomous-sorting-pilot). Your main task will be to design, build and implement a smart “wall charging station” where multiple robot batteries can be charged in. First you will research various charging options and get familiar with the Prime Vision robot and make a plan of approach. Amongst others, possible key points are: fast and normal charging, battery health monitoring, GUI design, infrastructure considerations and ergonomics. Next, you will make a concept of the best option and have a CDR (Critical Design Review) session with the team. After a green light you will design and make a prototype capable of charging multiple batteries. At our test location in Delft/De Lier you can test the real system. After testing some small redesigns may be required. Towards the end of the internship you will have a full setup of the system at De Lier.
You are in the final stages of your degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a similar degree and have some track record in the field of embedded system design, mechanical design, battery management and/or power management. You have experience in Solidworks, PCB design (Eagle/Altium) and programming in C++.
You are hands-on and ambitious, self-starting with a responsible and flexible attitude, you love to be challenged and you are a team player with an independent and customer-oriented approach.
You can start your internship at any moment from now till February 2019, for a period of at least 5 months.
WHAT WE OFFER
At the innovation department, you will work with some of the best brains in the industry busy concocting new software. You will be properly supervised during your work placement and be given the scope for you to get the best out of yourself. Naturally, we provide a suitable work placement compensation.
