Prime Vision develops a new type of sorting machine: a handling projector. This projector is mounted above a sorting chute or moving belt in a sorting center. It is capable of reading barcodes of parcels that lie below the projector and can project characters on the parcels helping the process of people placing the parcels in specific containers or van.
After assembling these devices need to be calibrated and tested. This is now mainly a manual task. The aim of this assignment is to work on an automated calibration- and test stand. This is not a single assignment but a continuous effort of multiple internships; every task is a single assignment:
Automatic calibration stand Calibration is done on several levels. Level should automatically be adjusted, and a trigger should be sent to the projector to continue the calibration.
Projection detection test Using a high-speed camera and the use of neural networks test projections are tested for shape and location.
Telezoom detection By automatically placing barcodes it is validated if these are detected properly.
Light condition test By adjusting light conditions to match daylight, TL-light and direct light it is tested if detection works properly.
An HBO / WO student (micro)electronics, mechatronics or software engineering;
