Prime Vision’s Similar SIGN works to prevent fraudulent activities involving signatures, increases the security of documents, and provides many companies with a quick, computerised and high-quality method of verification.
A signature is a unique and personal feature. Important documents are often furnished with this characteristic. Prime Vision’s SimilarSIGN ensures that signatures are automatically verified and checks to determine if they originated from the same person. Forging signatures on various documents, such as bank remittance slips and passports, is rendered much more difficult if not altogether impossible. With SimilarSIGN, a signature remains unique.

Features
Reliability and safety play an important role in modern document processing. Although the read rate of modern processing systems has improved considerably over the last 10 years, there still is the need for human intervention for a substantial part of the document volume.
In most cases the need for accurate document processing conflicts with the need for less human intervention. The verification of signatures on banking and other documents fulfills the need for accurate processing. As human verification of signatures is very expensive and time consuming, most signatures on documents are checked randomly based on a low sample rate. The need for less human intervention would result in a decreasing quality level of the process.
Automated verification of signatures can provide a higher accuracy combined with significant decrease of human intervention. Prime Vision has developed a signature verification system that provides an outstanding read rate combined with an extremely low error rate. Manual verification can be reduced by up to 98%
Features of Prime Vision SimilarSIGN: -
• Reduction of manual verification by up to 98%
• Extremely low error rate < 0,01%
• Integrated management of reference signatures
• Continuous update and management process for reference signatures
• Configurable performance based on the customer’s requirements
• Turnkey system solution or simply available as a signature verification module
• Dynamic configuration based on the amount of money to be transferred or other value referenced data
Specifications
Prime Vision’s Similar SIGN software runs on standard PC architecture with standard Windows operating system. The design is inherently modular, flexible and scaleable with the ability to train, expand and adapt the system now and in the future.
Sample system architecture:
The system assumes a number of reference signatures per person are available. When processing the actual signature, it is compared to one or more reference signatures.
The more reference signatures used, the more accurately the system will perform.
A special similarity measure (0-100%) is determined on the basis of smart pattern recognition algorithms. This similarity measure represents the difference (or mathematical distance) between the two signatures. The comparison of two signatures will result in a 100% score if they are identical. Two completely different signatures will be assigned a low percentage (up until about 20%). By using a threshold, the system is configurable.
Accuracy can be fine-tuned by using this threshold. The general assumption is that a person’s way of signing a signature is the subject of development and change throughout the years. In order to address this potential problem, newer reference signatures can be added.
