Austrian Post signs pro-active support contract
Austrian Post (Post AT) has just signed an annual rolling contract with Prime Vision for nationwide software support. Its ParcelMatch OCR and Key-IT video coding products are installed at each of Austrian Post’s seven parcel sorting centres across Austria, but the scope of the agreement goes way beyond preventative and corrective maintenance.
ParcelMatch OCR is enhanced at every site by another Prime Vision module, its label identification tool. This enables the system to store different label types for the automated reading of machine printed text. These OCR products work in tandem with SICK camera systems, a partner with whom Prime Vision has a long standing working relationship.
In today’s market most posts have already committed to automation. So the role of companies such as Prime Vision is to ensure customers continue to fine-tune their systems to extract every possible performance gain. And this is where Prime Vision stands out from the crowd.
The support contract for Austrian Post typifies Prime Vision’s proactive approach. In addition to conducting a twice-yearly health check of the system, including exact read and error rate analysis, its support extends to working in partnership with customers to identify areas of potential improvement to optimise business growth.
Prime Vision’s newly restructured and much larger support department will provide the front line support for this new contract. It works in compliance with ITIL IT service management procedures, which provide a cohesive set of best practice rules, drawn from international public and private sectors.
