Prime Vision signs contract with Itella
Prime Vision, the postal integrator and OCR specialist, is delighted to confirm that Itella has awarded the company a four-year support contract for each of its five sorting centres throughout Finland. In line with the high productivity that Itella has achieved through its investment in automation and OCR, this 24-hour support contract is geared to maximising uptime.
The contract covers all servers, cameras and dimensioning systems and includes a high degree of preventative maintenance. Prime Vision LiveLink provides remote system diagnosis and works in tandem with the hotline direct to Prime Vision support specialists.
Itella has consistently led the field in parcel automation, a policy that has optimised its operation and underpinned its productivity. This postal organisation recognised early the value of high performance OCR and chose ParcelVision as the software platform for its phased investment in automation. In the future Itella is considering centralised video coding for redundancy purposes, an important facility in a country where the weather can easily disrupt operations.
